Andor was an intellectual. He studied mathematics and physics at university in Budapest but was forced to interrupt his studies due to the anti-Jew laws. He joined the movement at the age of seventeen. His instructor was Arie Ya’ari Hunwald. After the German invasion of Hungary on 19.3.1944, Andor took part in the underground operations of the movement and was sent on various missions. After the liberation, in 1947 he left the movement and joined the Hungarian communist party. Andor finished his studies as a construction engineer and took part in the building of the underground train in Budapest.
